Retail figures for the first two months of 2022 show increasing headwinds for moving alt-protein products, whether they're in the refrigerated section or the freezer.

Combined refrigerated and frozen plant-based meat alternatives generated $93 million in the four February 2022 weeks. This was up about 1% versus February 2021. However, dollar gains were boosted by inflation (coming from the frozen side) and unit and volume sales were down year-on-year.
