Winning the race

As a kid, I thought the proverbial hare from Aesop's titular fable was an enormous jerk: If he wanted to grandstand and take a nap, he could have just done that without bothering the tortoise.

Perhaps I see a bit too much of myself inside that protective shell. I've never been the fastest or the smartest — but, like that tortoise, I'm always plugging away, moving forward and getting things done.
